April 11 - Lawnmower Maintenance
Learn how to keep that mower running, even if you hate using it. If you can maintain a small engine, you can step up to a big one more easily. Mowing yards is a time-honored way for a boy to make money.
April 18 - Electricity (DC)
This primer is almost all hands-on. Students can (safely) play around with motors, batteries, lights, and voltage meters to develop a basic understanding of electricity.
April 25 - Intro to Wood Framing
We build a basic wall frame in full size! An introduction to framing and carpentry, students will build a small section of wall to learn basic skills and tools such as drills, screws, measuring, and spacing.
May 2 - Electricity (AC)
We jump from DC to AC and learn how houses are wired. Students will learn basic theory as well as practical skills in wiring outlets and light fixtures.
May 9 - Household Wiring and Devices
We actually wire an open frame stud wall, complete with outlets, switches, and lights, then we plug it in!
May 16 - Grilling
Fire and meat! What else needs to be said? Just bring an appetite because you're gonna practice the subtle art of cooking meat.
April 10 - Automotive Oil Change
Learn why this messy task is so crucial and how to do it. Stain warning!
April 17 - Three Way Switch
Unravel the mystery of operating a light from multiple locations. This clever little circuit baffles even some electricians, but you can learn how it works by building your own.
April 24 - Intro to Electronics
Building your own working electronic circuit in this hands-on lesson will get you familiar with some of the basics of the vast field of electronics.
May 1 - Sinks and Drains Pt. 1
This lesson was designed by a real plumber to teach you how to install faucets and sink drains. Like the toilet lesson, once you’re done, we hook it up to water and see how you did.
May 8 - Sinks and Drains Pt. 2
Learn to change a flat tire! Also how to check air pressure, refill air, and safety when jacking up a vehicle.
May 15 - Grilling 2
Fire and meat! What else needs to be said? Just bring an appetite because you're gonna practice the subtle art of cooking meat. This lesson is a more advanced and even more delicious continuation of the Level 1 grilling lesson.
Lessons are 5:30pm - 7pm. Our facility is a large garage/shop in a residential area.
