Fall Semester
This year's Level 1 course includes basic lessons on electricity, lawnmower maintenance, cooking, and more. Students must be boys aged 9-17. We are offering two slots this semester, with duplicate classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30 - 7:00.
We are also introducing a Level 2 course this semester, which is a little more advanced. This course covers basic household maintenance, power drills and drill bits, changing a flat tire, and grilling. Students must have taken at least one semester of the Level 1 course. Level 2 classes will meet on Mondays 5:30-7:00.

Oct 4/6 - Fire Building
The ancient art of building fires (and cooking hot dogs) teaches the basic principles behind how fire really works as well as techniques for building one. Hot dogs included.
Oct 11/13 - Jumpstarting a Car
The basics of car batteries and jump starting a car are covered, including how to clean terminals, check for voltage, proper procedure for attaching jumper cables, what an alternator is and what the battery does.
Oct 18/20 - Bicycle Maintenenace
What better way to learn tool use is there than fixing a bike? Whether you have your own bike or not, take tools in a hand and make something happen. This is how foundational skills are made.
Oct 25/28 - Household Plumbing
Plumb the depths of that critical, but mysterious object, the toilet. In this funny yet extremely useful lesson, construct an actual (new) toilet while learning how it works, what goes wrong, and how to fix it. We build our toilets on wheels so we can roll them outside, hook them to water, and flush them! And yes, we get to stop them up and plunge them.
Nov 1/3 - Locks and Knobs
Protect your family and belongings by learning how to install doorknobs and deadbolts. We set up practice doors and cover all the fundamentals.
Nov 8/10 - Grilling
Fire and meat! What else needs to be said? Just bring an appetite because you're gonna practice the subtle art of cooking meat.

Oct 10 - Battle Bridge Pt. 1
The Battle Bridge is a game carefully designed for maximum fun. A wooden "bridge" is constructed, then marbles are shot across the board in the perfect mix of strategy, skill, and luck. Construction of the Battle Bridge requires drilling holes and driving screws, so students can become familiar with power drills and different types of bits.

Oct 24 - Battle Bridge Pt. 3
Construction of the Battle Bridges concludes. Each student may take home his Battle Bridge to keep, complete with marbles and instructions.
Oct 31 - Changing a Flat
Learn to change a flat tire! Also how to check air pressure, refill air, and safety when jacking up a vehicle.
Nov 7 - Grilling 2
Fire and meat! What else needs to be said? Just bring an appetite because you're gonna practice the subtle art of cooking meat. This lesson is a more advanced and even more delicious continuation of the Level 1 grilling lesson.
Lessons are 5:30pm - 7pm. Our facility is a large garage/shop in a residential area.
